At The Hastings Sunrise Community Policing Centre (HSCPC), volunteers are the heart of our organization. Volunteers not only participate in programs and projects, but also play a significant role in the operation and leadership of the HSCPC.
People from all over the lower mainland and from many different walks of life volunteer at our centres and in the programs. Some of our volunteers are applying for a police or fire department, others are students gaining valuable work experience, and others still are community members wanting to be proactive in resolving a concern.
All seem to share a common theme - wanting to help out their community to make it a safe and healthy place to live and work.
Volunteer Opportunities
While many volunteers end-up working in our offices and programs there are many other opportunities for volunteers to become involved.
As often as possible we try to match volunteers interests with the needs of the organization and the community.
We have volunteers who assist with:
-
accounting
- newsletters
- website development
-
graphic design
-
computer programming
-
fundraising
-
marketing
-
program development
-
project development
-
translation
-
office maintenance

As we are a non-profit organization there are also opportunities for volunteers and community members to sit on the Board of Directors.
Important: As a HSCPC volunteer, it is very important that you fulfill your volunteer commitment to the program you choose, as the community policing centre and the community is counting on you.
